Clinical and Radiometabolic Correlatives of ddPCR Liquid Biopsy for BRAF V600 Mutated Melanoma

A retrospective Mayo Clinic study of 71 BRAF-mutated melanoma patients validated that ddPCR BRAF ctDNA detects disease burden predicted by LDH, high lesion count, and younger age, and quantitatively correlates with PET-CT metabolic tumor volume (r=0.49). Results support targeted use of ddPCR ctDNA particularly in clinically aggressive disease presentations.
