Thousands of biomedical papers publish every day. Pulse reads the day’s output across the fields that matter, scores what is worth your attention, and turns it into a short, honest edition — plus a longitudinal view of where the science is heading. No editor decides what is “hot” by hand.

Scan the day’s literature

Each morning, Pulse queries PubMed across the biomedical domains it tracks — oncology, cardiometabolic, rare disease, AI diagnostics, aging, and more — and pulls every new paper. On a normal day that is hundreds to thousands of abstracts. Every one is peer-reviewed and published in an established journal, so the underlying science has already passed expert review before Pulse ever ranks it.

Read and score every candidate

A language model reads each abstract and structures it: study design, population, evidence maturity, how close it is to the clinic. Then it scores the paper 0–10 on novelty, relevance, study quality, and unmet need. Nothing is hand-picked — the ranking is the same for everyone.

Surface what matters

The highest-signal studies become the day’s edition: a short, ranked set of cards you can skim in a few minutes. Each one carries a plain-language summary and the reason it scored the way it did.

Go deeper on the day’s best

The strongest study of the day gets a deep-dive briefing — the context, the caveats, and what it actually means — written for a curious non-specialist, not only a researcher.

Across every article Pulse has ever scanned, the Trends view tracks which domains and topics are rising or cooling and clusters the literature into macro-trends — the longitudinal picture behind the daily edition.

How to read it. A score is a triage signal, not a verdict — a low number means “not today’s headline,” not “bad science.” Summaries are model-written and checked, but provisional. And none of it is medical advice; it is a map of what the research community is working on.
