The association between C-reactive protein/albumin ratio and coronary collateral circulation in patients with chronic coronary syndromes and chronic total occlusion
A simple blood ratio combining inflammation and nutrition markers predicted poor vessel development in chronic heart disease better than inflammation markers alone.
In 123 CCS patients with chronic total occlusion, the CRP/albumin ratio independently predicted poor coronary collateral vessel development with AUC 0.79, outperforming CRP alone and neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio. CAR represents a simple, routinely available composite inflammatory biomarker that may guide risk stratification and management in CCS/CTO.
