From the MSKCC myeloma biobank, a distinct differentiated effector T cell profile was identified in smoldering multiple myeloma patients that defines a functionally high-risk subgroup not captured by current IMWG criteria. This immune-based risk stratification could complement genomic/radiologic criteria for treatment decisions in smoldering myeloma.
