Radiogenomic approach combining CT-based radiomics and liquid biopsy improves prognostic stratification in patients with advanced NSCLC
Combining a simple blood test with CT scans improves prediction of lung cancer progression better than either approach alone, helping guide treatment decisions.
This prospective study (n=91 advanced NSCLC) demonstrates that combining CT radiomics with plasma ctDNA next-generation sequencing substantially improves prognostic stratification (DFS C-index 0.77 vs 0.59 clinical-only), with even stronger performance in EGFR-mutant patients (C-index 0.80). Longitudinal ctDNA clearance correlated with treatment response, positioning this multi-modal approach as a minimally invasive precision monitoring strategy.
