Early FMISO PET changes as exploratory predictors of immune checkpoint inhibitor response in advanced lung cancer: a pilot study
Early hypoxia imaging changes show promise as an exploratory signal of immunotherapy response in lung cancer, warranting prospective study.
In this pilot study of 17 NSCLC patients, early FMISO-PET hypoxia imaging changes after nivolumab-ipilimumab initiation showed promising utility as an exploratory response predictor, with 77.8% partial response rate in FMISO responders. While underpowered and requiring prospective validation, this suggests hypoxia monitoring may help identify early ICI responders in NSCLC.
