MUC4-targeted CAR-T Cells Restrain Chemotherapy-resistant Colorectal Cancer
Lab-engineered immune cells attack chemotherapy-resistant colon cancer in mice through a protein called MUC4, suggesting a new route for patients whose tumors resist standard drugs.
This preprint reports the engineering and preclinical evaluation of MUC4-targeted CAR-T cells against chemotherapy-resistant colorectal cancer, demonstrating efficient tumor elimination in vitro and improved survival in an aggressive intraperitoneal CRC metastasis model in NSG mice with no off-target toxicity. MUC4 is proposed as a broadly expressed surface antigen on mucinous, chemoresistant CRC subtypes where standard therapy fails.
