Common blood count patterns reflect disease activity in skin inflammatory disorders, though more rigorous studies are needed for clinical adoption.
This narrative review synthesizes evidence on CBC-derived inflammatory indices (NLR, PLR, SII, PIV, AISI) as markers of disease activity, treatment response, and cardiometabolic risk in chronic inflammatory skin diseases including psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and hidradenitis suppurativa. While associations with disease severity are demonstrated, methodological heterogeneity prevents clinical adoption and multicenter prospective studies are recommended to establish clinical utility.
