Machine learning and artificial intelligence in liquid biopsy-based early detection of pancreatic cancer: a scoping review
Early studies show artificial intelligence on blood tests for pancreatic cancer detection are promising, but need larger validation studies.
A PRISMA-ScR scoping review of 18 studies finds that AI/ML approaches applied to liquid biopsy for early pancreatic cancer detection are promising but limited by small cohort sizes and non-standardized reporting of model performance. The review maps the current state of random forest- and SVM-based PDAC liquid biopsy studies and identifies gaps for future research.
