Determinants and Promotion Strategies for Type 1 Diabetes Screening in Children: A Qualitative Study
Awareness and counseling drive early screening for type 1 diabetes in at-risk children, enabling timely preventive intervention.
This qualitative study identifies barriers and facilitators to T1D screening in children who are first-degree relatives of T1D patients, finding that awareness, provider engagement, and counseling availability are primary determinants. These insights can inform the design of scalable early T1D detection programs to enable timely intervention before symptomatic disease.
