Promising but preliminary

Haematopoietic cell transplantation for relapsed or refractory classical Hodgkin lymphoma: a retrospective, registry-based cohort study of 19 498 patients from the EBMT Lymphoma Working Group.

Transplant survival has substantially improved over a decade, with two-year survival now reaching 93% for certain blood cancers when caught early.

Auto-HCT 2-year OS improved from 85% to 93% and PFS from 63% to 73% over 2010-2022 in 15,648 patients; allo-HCT 2-year PFS improved from 44% to 62% in 3,850 patients. Disease status at transplantation is the strongest predictor of outcome.

Why it surfaced

The largest published HCT registry study for relapsed/refractory Hodgkin lymphoma, covering modern novel-agent era. The temporal outcome improvements documented across both auto- and allo-HCT with actionable predictors directly inform current practice and future trial design.
