Using the TriNetX global federated database with new-user active-comparator design and propensity matching, this large real-world study compared GLP-1 receptor agonists versus SGLT2 inhibitors in patients with comorbid COPD and T2DM. GLP-1RAs demonstrated substantial advantages over SGLT2 inhibitors in preventing sepsis and reducing mortality in this high-risk dual-comorbidity population, a finding with immediate clinical relevance.
