Epigenetic aging in Alzheimer's disease: Relation to proteome
Accelerated biological aging in Alzheimer's disease connects to specific protein changes, opening new directions for research into aging and dementia.
Using ADNI cohort data, this study integrated epigenetic aging clocks with proteomics to reveal that accelerated biological aging in AD patients is associated with distinct protein pathway dysregulation. These multi-omic findings open avenues for AD biomarker discovery and for targeting the aging-neurodegeneration nexus therapeutically.
