Tumor necrosis and ascites on baseline 18F-FDG PET/CT as independent prognostic imaging markers for double/triple-hit lymphoma

Standard PET scans show which patients with aggressive lymphoma need the most intense treatment, without extra molecular tests.

Baseline PET/CT imaging features—specifically tumor necrosis and ascites—were identified as independent prognostic markers in patients with double/triple-hit lymphoma, an aggressive B-cell malignancy with very poor prognosis. These findings could improve risk stratification using universally available staging imaging without additional molecular testing.

Why it surfaced

Novel PET/CT imaging biomarkers for aggressive DHL/THL lymphoma where prognosis is very poor and better tools are urgently needed. Direct T1 core hit.
