This multicenter Chinese study (10 hospitals, 410 patients with biopsy-proven MASLD) validated a novel quantitative ultrasound LIID score alongside liver stiffness measurement for non-invasive diagnosis of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis and fibrosis staging. The dual-threshold approach (AUROC 0.71 for MASH, 0.86 for advanced fibrosis) provides a practical non-invasive diagnostic strategy that could reduce the need for liver biopsy in clinical practice and MASH trials.
