This post hoc analysis of the SURMOUNT-1 phase 3 RCT (176 weeks, 962 participants with obesity/overweight and prediabetes) showed that tirzepatide 15 mg was associated with a durable predicted reduction in 10-year cardiovascular disease risk compared with placebo. The Framingham risk equation used for prediction was validated against the REWIND trial, supporting the plausibility of future CVD outcome benefits pending confirmation in SURMOUNT-MMO.
