This randomized FIH study of ALXN2420 evaluated a novel peptide antagonist of the growth hormone receptor designed to improve on pegvisomant's limitations (weekly SC injection, hepatotoxicity risk), demonstrating favorable pharmacokinetics and dose-dependent GH axis suppression in healthy volunteers. Results provide the initial safety and PK/PD basis for advancing ALXN2420 into patient studies for acromegaly and potentially other conditions of GH excess, which have significant unmet need.
