This landmark study of 38 NHL patients demonstrates that CART19 cells persist functionally for over a decade, with three patients maintaining B-cell aplasia at 7–10 years consistent with sustained anti-tumor activity. Persisting cells adopted a CD4−CD8− double-negative effector-memory phenotype with aerobic metabolic programming, and T-cell receptor sequencing revealed stable oligoclonal dominance traceable from day 14 post-infusion.
