Haematopoietic stem cell transplantation in hepatosplenic T-cell lymphoma: a retrospective analysis of the EBMT Lymphoma Working Party
Transplantation offers half of patients with this rare aggressive lymphoma a chance at long-term survival, with donor stem cells outperforming patient's own cells.
This EBMT retrospective registry analysis is the largest HSTL cohort to date (n=121 across 64 centers), showing allo-HSCT achieved 3-year PFS of 50.5% and OS of 55.0% in 94 patients with this rare aggressive T-cell lymphoma. Auto-HSCT had higher 3-year relapse incidence (50.0% vs 37.9%) and should be reserved only for complete responders ineligible for allogeneic transplant.
