This study evaluated the uric acid to high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol ratio (UHR) as a potential biomarker for cardiometabolic comorbidities in youth with obesity, finding significantly elevated odds of impaired fasting glucose, impaired glucose tolerance, insulin resistance, and MASLD in higher UHR quartiles. The findings suggest UHR may serve as a low-cost accessible screening indicator for identifying obese youth at elevated cardiometabolic risk.
